MAIN ACTS
For main acts, we generally book fairly well-known regional or national artists - people like John Gorka, Christine Lavin, James Keelaghan, The Boys of the Lough, Peter Ostroushko, Vance Gilbert, Utah Phillips, Martin Carthy, Kevin Burke, Pat Donohue, etc.
We do occasionally book slightly lesser known performers if someone on our booking committee has heard them live. If you believe your act is of the quality and name recognition of the sort of folks listed above, you may send your press kit with photo, where you've performed in the past, your upcoming performances & CD to Minnesota Folk Festival, 626 Armstrong Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55102.
If you are a singer/songwriter and don't have quite the recognition of the above, your best bet is to be a part of our New Folk Songwriting Contest. Every year the winner will be hired as a headliner for the following year's festival.
